[mslee's thoughts] tvN's New Drama Surplus Princess - First Look on The Mermaid Who Wants To Be Human

New drama every Thursday night @ 23:00KST via tvN is about a mermaid, [18th mermaid] named Kim Ha Ni played by Jo Bo Ah who will turn human for the man she loves. Within 100 days, the man must fall in love with her for her to stay human permanently.

I like how the story started. Entertaining and fun with lots of caption going on in the screen for effects. Our pretty mermaid is narrating her life in a cute way. A mermaid who is modern in every way. She also have a cellphone with her 24/7 where she read news and updates especially about her one and only love, Kwon Shi Kyung, [Song Jae Rim] a chef who looks hot. She is like a stalker, always taking opportunity to have a glimpse of him.

The guy who makes the mermaid wants to be human.

Aww! No wonder she is going crazy over this guy! kekekeke....

The first encounter of our cute and jolly mermaid to the man of her dreams was really fun under the water when he fell and lost consciousness. She kissed him and he kissed back naughtily. Ah, it was fun to watch.

This really made me .laugh! Chongmal! If the writer will be this imaginative... viewers like me will be entertained well.

But then, there is this other girl...Yoon Jin A [Park Ji Soo] who looks like interested towards Shi Kyung who happens to be working with the staff she belongs to. Then this other guy [jobless] Lee Hyun Myung [Oh Joo Wan] who is currently Jin A's boyfriend but seems she will soon dump him in favor of the hot chef.

A house of mixed personality also join the story. This group are all looking for their first job. Chaotic but friendly atmosphere, this bunch will soon be our mermaid's house mate once she finds her pair of legs on the ground.

 She asked the 17th mermaid for the potion and she was led to find this big scary man who doesn't want to give her the potion. But she was so determined for her love, she battled it out from the big man who was scared because he could not breathe under the water. Of course, our sassy mermaid did her best to dunk the man's face under the water and triumphantly got the bottle containing the potion. She drank it to the man's horror as he begged her not to drink.

Hmmm.. I think I will add this one to my list of currently watching dramas. Another rom/com that will put a smile on my face and just bring on the lightness of a fun watch story. But I am still not sure who is the lead guy here. I do hope it is Song Jae Rim because I already see the chemistry and the undeniable electricity between him and Jo Bo Ah.

Don't forget to check this one out. Adventurous and fun. So far I was not disappointed in the pilot episode.
